Internet & it's disadvantages
..…By Vincent Onyekwelu
In line to contribute on technology topics. The internet has a fantastic positive influence in the way we leave our lives, do business, study, socialise, receive health treatment etc. The vibrant and profitable usiness oppurtunity created by the internet cannot be compared with any recent business idea but I wonder what it will develop into in the next couple of years.
Telecom giants like Vodafone, Verizon, O2 etc are jumping into the 4-play business i.e. telephone, mobile, TV and internet all in one package. The question is as we measure the blessings of the internet, what are the side effects. I wouldn't advise any one with limited internet security know how to do internet banking.
Wifi one of the recent additions from the internet equally makes it even cheaper and easier to connect wirelessly at different locations away from office and home. Though it's advised if your knowledge of internet security is not good, viruses and spy wares could easily take over your PC. The current information on how weak these connectivities can be influenced e.g. a wet dog coming out from the shower could seriously affect your Wifi connectivity, a micro wave has serious effects too.
Hopefully Wimax the new undeployed upgrade of Wifi could resolve these wet dog shortcomings of Wifi connectivity. But how many more technological upgrades are we expecting. Should we follow technology or should technology follow us?
Friends and collegues what is your view. Have you heard about the new micro chip by motorolla that could replace credit cards and has GPS feautures so you can be detected any where you are at any time. Hmmm! i ponder because it seems we have seen nothing yet technologically.

As people buy the technology, so people use the profits to expand upon their knowledge.
Also there's the marketing aspect whose mentality is, you know you want it, we know you need it, buy it from us we are the best in this field.
Nothing surprises me these days relating to technology.
There is probably not a thing that I am carrying right now not capable of telling someone where I am at short notice.
Even if I went outside with my pockets deviod of any technlogical paraphenalia including a bank card, I would still get picked out by a CCTV camera.
Then there would be my need to depend on a cashpoint machine.
If I did not use my bank for a couple of months, they would pick up on that and I could go on.
What we all should not fear is the rise in information technology.
If you were a pc genius yesterday, you may only be a specialist in your field tomorrow.
Hmmm, don't know what more to say.
