    ICSN Out and About - Race for Life

  • On 19th July 2009 three of our very own ICSN executive ladies ran the ‘Race for Life’ 5K Run in London’s Hyde Park. In preparation for the race the girls trained for hours and they sought sponsorship from members to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

    Great Igbos: Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe (1904-1994)

  • The late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe or ‘Zik’ was Nigeria’s first president. Before that he was a major player in the Nigerian independence movement and a founder of Nigeria’s first purpose-built university, the University of Nigeria at Nsukka. Journalist, author, publisher and politician, Zik’s achievements were many throughout a long and active life.

    What’s Cooking? Jollof Rice Recipe

  • This is a tasty rice dish, that is delicious and easy to prepare. The rice can be served with hot and spicy suya meat, chicken, fish or vegetables or they can be stirred in at the end. It is also sometimes served with fried plantain, homemade coleslaw and salad.

Our venue for the general house monthly meeting has changed from Laughing Gravy to The Gate Public House, 18 - 20 St Johns Street, Barbican, London, EC1M 4AY. The nearest tube station is Barbican (5 minutes walk) via the Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City line. The new venue is centrally located.
